2013 has been an eventfull year and the beginning of the Mbaula Green journey. Introducing our Mbaula Green and it's benefits has been such a priviledge & really rewarding. The concept's benefits has been received well and we're pleased to have achieved the following during 2013;
110% Green flagship company in the Western Cape
Approved as partners of the United Nation's Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves
Selected as an official project of the World Design Capital 2014
Our journey with the Mbaula Green aims to improve lives in the informal settlements by replacing dangerous, expensive and inefficient cooking methods/stoves with the economic and clean Mbaula Green. We're currently negotiating with relevant stakeholders who will fund/subsidize/distribute the Mbaula Greens in areas where cooking issues and smoke pollution is rife. We look forward to 2014 as we believe the interests of investors and the WDC 2014 will fall in place really well.
We've also had a wonderful response from the Outdoor market who wish to reduce their carbon footprint and costs by cooking with the portable, easy to travel with, Mbaula Green. The Drive Out magazine contacted us earlier this year in order to do a review of our stove, we gave it a shot and we were very happy with their positive review in their November 2013 issue. We've also approached bigger retailers who really like our Stainless Steel Mbaula Green and hopefully you'll be seeing our stove/braai on the shelves pretty soon.
Ultimately we'd love to reach a global market in order to ensure that the benefits of the Mbaula Green has a significant effect, starting in Southern Africa and eventually internationally.
